If you follow me on Instagram (here), Twitter (here) or Facebook (here) you will know that I have mentioned new series on my blog. Those who know me know that when I promise something I deliver. Therefore, This is the first post of my new series called: “Inspirations”. I know that it may sound strange considering that my blog is a Hashimoto’s Warrior one. However, I believe that when you have few inspirations in your life it helps you to cope with everyday life problems. That is why, I had to include that in my blog. We all have different people/things that inspire us, that’s for sure, but maybe my new series of articles will help you to notice yours and will benefit from your inspirations.
So, without further ado, let’s begin the inspirations series.
When I think: “inspiration” I immediately think of Audrey Hepburn. Not Audrey Hepburn in one particular movie – Audrey Hepburn as a whole. For me personally, she was the perfect example of simple, chic style, good manners and beauty. Perfect combination if you ask me. But don’t get me wrong it was not just a pretty face. She was dedicated to helping others, she was an UNICEF Ambassador helping children in Ethiopia. She also knew many languages. Apparently, she never swore (that is something I would like to accomplish ;)). Not to mention, of course, her perfect yet simple style.
Every time I see her picture somewhere or even a T-shirt with her face I need to stop for a moment and admire her perfect smile, beautiful eyes. This warmth to another human being that I can see in each photograph. But also I have to think of the smart and inspirational things that she said and that were written down (thank goodness for that). There are many of her quotes that you can find on the Internet (I have an album with her quotes – got it for Birthday). Most of them are so inspiring. I myself have a picture (I got it for Birthday as well) with one of her quotes:
“I BELIEVE IN PINK. I BELIEVE THAT LAUGHING IS THE BEST CALORIE BURNER. I BELIEVE IN KISSING, KISSING A LOT. I BELIEVE IN BEING STRONG WHEN EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE GOING WRONG. I BELIEVE THAT HAPPY GIRLS ARE THE PRETTIEST GIRLS. I BELIEVE THAT TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY AND I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES.”
Take your time and think about those words. They may seem simple at first but they are far more than simple. Because, who doesn’t believe that when you laugh you have the best abs training. Or, when you are happy you feel that everybody is smiling back. And, who doesn’t believe that everyday is a new day when everything can happen. So simple yet so true.
Now, apart from her perfect person, I adore her movies, of course, such as:
- Roman Holiday
- Funny Face
- Sabrina
- Wait Until Dark
But the most favourite movie of mine is Breakfast at Tiffany’s (hence the picture ;)). I love Holly Golightly – she is positive and negative at the same time. If you haven’t watched it, you must ? Of course, I also love the book written by Truman Capote but we are here today to talk: Audrey. This movie is my comfort movie. Whenever I don’t know what to do with a current situation or I get my sad days (as Holly sad the reds) I watch Breakfast at Tiffany’s and I feel better in an instant. And the beautiful Moon River song sang by Audrey Hepburn herself (omg).
I will not make a review of those movies not to spoil the whole fun watching – but if you want me to just leave a comment.
In order to feel better being at the office as well I have a postcard with her picture from Breakfast at Tiffany’s and her another quote: Paris is always a good idea. I totally agree with that sentence. It is indeed always a good idea ?
So, maybe you would like to share who/what inspires you?
