I know I have been writing about skin care a little bit on my blog in the past (here, here and here). You might be a bored with this subject, however, in this oost I would like to focus on a skin problem that maybe many of you have. Now, this is not dedicated only to people with Hashimoto’s this time but to all of you out there who have problems with rosacea. I have this issue myself and I fight with it for at least ten years now and two years later it was really bad. That is when, I started digging, reading to fight this skin problem once and for all.
*Now, before we start with the actual post I have to say that I am not a doctor nor a dietician. Everything I post here are tips from my experience. Before you decide to use my ideas, please consult with your family doctor or your endocrinologist.
1. Keep your face hydrated
Drink plenty and plenty of water. This is something I bragged about in the past but this is a crucial part of skincare routine. Always have a bottle of water with you and keep it at work and at home someplace handy. Download an app if this will help you to remember drinking water or set a reminder every hour on your mobile phone. Whatever will make it easier for you, but drink water…
2. Use SPF
I doesn’t matter if the sun is shining or if it is raining outside. When you leave the house (even for an hour) put on a moisturising cream with SPF 15 at least. The sunnier it is outside, the higher the SPF factor. I know you might think that when you go outside just for a moment and it is not summer SPF is not needed, but you are mistaken. The exposion to the sunlight is harmful even when the sun is hidding in clouds. Make a habbit putting SPF moisturiser every day in the morning. You will not feel the difference between regular face cream and your face will thank you for that.
3. Rutin
This is a magical chemical substance that strengthens blood vessels and does wonders for rosacea. I take a Vitamin C + Rutin pill everyday in the morning and my rosacea looks a lot more pale that before. The good news is that rutin also helps with bleeding gums and bleeding nose (I had those problems in the past and they are gone now) and it boost the immune system 🙂
This time I have only three tips, howewver, they have helped me so much with my skin condition. Let me know if you have any more tips that might help with rosacea as well.
